A boutique hotel lobby that weaves Levantine heritage into a refined, contemporary hospitality experience.
A boutique hotel lobby in the heart of Beirut, designed to offer a genuine sense of arrival — a deliberate counterpoint to the city’s energy outside. The brief called for warmth, cultural specificity, and a level of craft rarely seen in contemporary hotel interiors.
The design draws on Levantine craft traditions — carved stone screens, hand-painted zellige tile borders, and layered textiles — to create a space that feels rooted yet thoroughly contemporary. The central seating area is anchored by a double-height carved cedar installation referencing traditional mashrabiya screens.
Every material was sourced regionally. Stone from the Chouf mountains, copper fixtures from craftspeople in the Bekaa Valley, and silk cushion fabric woven by a cooperative in Tripoli. The result is an interior that feels genuinely of its place.

Whether it's a full home renovation, a commercial fit-out, or just an exploratory conversation — I'd love to hear about your space and what you're imagining for it.
